What: The Columbus Children's Choir's New World Singers and Belgian pianist Gilbert DeGreeve will perform the music of Zoltan Kodaly and other Hungarian composers.
A Symphonic Night of Hip-Hop Featuring Common
When: Saturday, 8 p.m.
Where: Columbus Commons
What: The rapper, actor and poet joins the Columbus Symphony to perform music from his album, Black America Again, as well as some of his biggest hits.
Cost: Tickets are sold out.
2017 Shootout For Soldiers
When: Saturday, 12:30 p.m. to Sunday, 1 p.m.
Where: Obetz Fortress
What: A 24-hour lacrosse event to benefit veterans will happen at the Ohio Machine's home stadium in Obetz. It will involve lacrosse, music and food. It will run along with an Ohio Machine
Dash for Donation
When: Saturday, 6:30 a.m.
Where: Genoa Park
What: Multiple races, including a 5k and a Kids and Mascots race, promoting the Ohio Donor Registry for human organ and tissue transplants.
Cost: Free, though donations are encouraged
The Amazing Dog Show
When: Friday, 7 p.m.
Where: 400 West Rich
What: An evening of dog-themed art and activies, including a raffle. All proceeds go to help the dogs at Pet Promise.
Shrek The Musical Jr.
When: Friday, 7:30 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Where: Park Street Theatre
What: The one-act musical tells the story of movie ogre Shrek on his quest to rescue a princess.
When: Saturday Noon-Midnight; Sunday Noon-6 p.m.
Where: Victory Park, Pickerington
What: A celebration of community offering food and entertainment. There will be rides, 15 food vendors, entertainment and a 5k.
