Central Ohioans to vote on local races, issues on May ballot
Election day in Ohio is Tuesday May 2nd, and while this is a primary, there are several issues voters will be deciding the Central Ohio.
In Franklin County, several people are vying for council seats in Columbus, Hilliard, Reynoldsburg, and Whitehall.
Franklin County voters will also decide on a levy for Senior Services.
There are several school issues on the ballot including a three mill tax levy for Pickerington Schools. District leaders say the monies will help improve athletic fields for all high schools.
In Licking County, Licking Heights School District has a 4.99 mill bond issue to help build a new high school. District bosses say since 2004, the student population has more than doubled, forcing students to have class in the hallways, auditorium, and storage areas.
The opioid crisis is crippling local ADAMH boards across Central Ohio. Both Paint Valley ADAMH and Ross County Health District is asking for an additional 1 mill levy to help those needing treatment.
