COLUMBUS (Dawn Faugl) -- Several thousand people were left without power Monday night, after a storm moved through central Ohio, knocking down branches and trees.

AEP Ohio told ABC 6/FOX 28 the hardest hit areas were Northeast Columbus and Gahanna. AEP also said they would have crews working all night, but many customers may not see power restored until Tuesday morning, or even later in the day.

A Gahanna home was damaged when a large tree fell onto the house. The family who lives there said most of the damage was to the garage, but they weren't able to spend the night in the home. Storm Knocks Down Trees, Causes Outages
