Can your children help? New mom is collecting homemade Christmas cards for elderly

Lindsay Press lost her grandfather, Dan Arnett, about a week after her son was born.

In Arnett's final days, he spent time between nursing homes and hospitals, Press told ABC6/FOX28.

Now, nine-months later, Press is hoping to honor her grandfather.

We are calling and challenging all kids in Columbus," said Press, "to get together with their parents and make holiday cards for those who can't spend the time at home.

Press works at (614) Magazine, which is now spreading the message as a Holiday Cheer Project.

"We are just hoping to flood the city with the cutest cards," she said. "So, as many as we can gather by December 20."

The homemade cards can be mailed or dropped off to the magazine's office at 458 East Main Street in Downtown Columbus.

Then, on December 23 and 24, Press said she and her nine-month-old son will deliver the cards to local hospitals and nursing homes, hoping it brings some holiday cheer to those who might need it the most.
