Man killed after home invasion in East Columbus
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) —
A man was killed after a home invasion in East Columbus overnight Friday per Columbus Police.
Police said 54-year-old Kelvin Lee Porter was pronounced dead at 2:03 a.m. Police responded to the scene around 1:18 a.m. on a report of a home invasion and gunshots.
Officers found Porter lying in the driveway, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Grant Medical Center where he later died.
Detectives said they continued to process the scene, but initial information indicated Porter was the victim of a robbery. Police are now tracking down a person of interest.
The investigation continued. This was the 8th homicide in Columbus this year.
