Whitehall-based Army Reservists leave for year-long deployment
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) - —
A group of Army Reservists took off from John Glenn International Airport for a year-long deployment on Sunday.
The 654th Unit based out of Whitehall will train at Ft. Hood and then fly to Kuwait for their mission.
The unit of ten will learn more about their mission once they get to Kuwait. At the USO lounge at John Glenn International Airport, the group got a send off from family and friends.
Many in the unit have been deployed multiple times.
ABC 6/FOX 28 spoke with the unit's Lieutenant Commander who said the group made it safely to Ft. Hood.
