Ohio State names Ryan Day new Buckeyes QB coach
Just two days after being shut out in the Fiesta Bowl, the Ohio State Buckeyes started announcing coaching staff changes.
Ryan Day, the quarterbacks coach for the San Francisco 49ers, was named the new quarterbacks coach for the Buckeyes. He'll replace Tim Beck, who Ohio State says is pursuing other opportunities.
Before joining Chip Kelly's staff in San Francisco, Day was QB coach for the Philadelphia Eagles. In the release, Ohio State says Day brings 15 seasons of coaching experience to the Buckeyes, "including two years in the National Football League and 10 seasons as a Division I assistant coach."
Day has worked with Urban Meyer before, as a graduate assistant coach during Meyer's first season at the University of Florida in 2005.
