Pickerington neighborhood on high alert after rash of car break-ins
PICKERINGTON, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) —
A Pickerington neighborhood is on high alert after a rash of car break-ins overnight.
Police said several residents reported car break-ins in the Stonebridge Estates neighborhood.
One neighbor said his whole car was stolen. Manny Gerardi told ABC 6/FOX 28 that when he opened the garage door to leave for work, his truck was nowhere to be found. Police later located it north of W. Columbus Street around 6:40 p.m.
Pickerington Police say several cars were broken into along Rambling Brook Dr, prompting residents to start a petition to get street lights installed.
One neighbor shared surveillance video from his home to help police catch a lead.
Police were still tallying up just how many cars were broken into.
No suspects have yet been identified.
