Police: Suspect shot by clerk during Merion Village convenience store robbery

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) -- Columbus Police are looking for a suspect who robbed a Merion Village convenience store at gunpoint Thursday night.

Police said the suspect robbed the Buckeye Market in the 1300 block of S. 4th Street around 8:20 p.m.

During the robbery, police said the clerk retrieved a handgun from under the counter and shot the suspect, who then fled the area and has yet to be located.

The suspect was described as a black male, mid-to-late 20's, 6'0"-6'3", heavy build, wearing a black mask, black jacket, faded blue jeans, armed with a silver pistol, and suffering from a gunshot wound.
