Semi hauling dish soap overturns on I-70 EB in Preble County after driver loses control
The crash happened just before 9 a.m. in Preble County at U.S. 127. Trooper Kimberly Trout with the Ohio State Highway Patrol said the driver was hauling 35,000 pounds of Dawn dish soap when his trailer turned on its side and ended up in the center median of the highway. Each bottle of dish soap had to be removed by hand so the trailer could be turned upright and removed. The trailer ended up blocking both eastbound lanes. "The driver said there was a 'popping sound' but there's no evidence we can find that anything mechanical happened," Trout said.
No one was injured in the crash; the driver was the only person inside the semi. He was traveling with his dog, which was not injured. The driver was headed to New Jersey from Spiceland, Indiana. He has been cited for failure to control.
