Ohio neighborhood celebrates woman's last chemo treatment
UNION TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) - A Clermont County woman's family, friends and neighbors are celebrating with her Friday. Amy Kleiner has been battling breast cancer for six months. Aug. 4 was her last chemotherapy treatment.
Neighbors have been helping Kleiner whenever they could since her February diagnosis.
As the fight comes to an end, the Union Township neighbors sent Kleiner off to Mercy Anderson in style. "We all wanted to rally around her and support her on her very last chemo today, let her know that we all love her. She's done awesome through this and just to come together as family, friends and community to let her know she's not been fighting alone," said Tera Kiser.
They gathered in prayer before heading to Kleiner's house. They stood at the end of her driveway with signs and balloons. They surprised her as she walked out of her home. Before she took that last ride to the hospital they released the balloons, one for each procedure she's endured.
Kleiner's fight isn't completely finished. She still has to undergo radiation treatments.
