Man killed in Davie, Fla. while installing hurricane shutters
DAVIE, Fla. (CBS12) —
A 57-year-old man died Thursday morning, making it the first Hurricane Irma-related fatality in the U.S., WFOR reported.
Around 10 a.m., the man was installing hurricane shutters on the second floor of a home in the Poiciana development on 136th Avenue and State Road 84 when he fell off the ladder and hit his head on the pool deck.
He was transported to Broward Health Center, where he eventually succumbed to his injuries.
