Man tells 911 he 'killed his mother,' Giles County officers find victim clinging to life
GILES COUNTY, Tenn. (WZTV) —
A man is behind bars after calling 911 to report he "killed his mother" and officers arrived to find the victim clinging to life, a news release said.
Cameron Curtis is charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault.
The Giles County Sheriff's Office said Curtis called 911 to report that he "killed his mother" inside a home along Oak Grove Road on Tuesday. Officers responded to find a woman lying on the floor "bleeding profusely from her head." She was transported to a hospital in Nashville where she's currently in critical, but stable condition.
Officers said Curtis also charged at them when responding to the scene and he had to be subdued.
Curtis is being held in Giles County Jail without bond. His first court appearance is slated for 8:30 a.m. on March 8.
The crime scene is still under investigation and additional charges may be filed.
