Two-year-old hospitalized in Pine Bluff apartment fire
PINE BLUFF, Ark. (KATV) —
A toddler was hospitalized after an early morning fire broke out at a Pine Bluff apartment complex.
The fire sparked at a building in the 4300 block of Union Ave. at approximately 9 a.m.
The Pine Bluff Fire Department says a 2-year-old child and an adult both suffered from smoke inhalation and were transported to the Jefferson Regional Medical Center. The child was reportedly breathing on her own when she was checked out at the Pine Bluff hospital, but she was airlifted to Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock for further evaluation.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire. While they say it was predominantly contained to one unit at the complex, others also sustained smoke and water damage.
