11 Central Ohio Applebee's locations affected by data breach
Names and credit or debit card information were compromised, and the eleven restaurants in Central Ohio were affected from December 6 of last year to January 2 of 2018.

All the targeted locations are owned by RMH Franchise, which owns a total of 167 locations in 15 states. Earlier this week, they issued a statement with some information on what happened:
“Unauthorized software placed on the point-of-sale system at certain RMH owned-and-operated Applebee’s restaurants was designed to capture payment card information.”
The ‘data incident’ web page also states they use an isolated payment system within their group of restaurants, meaning other franchise owners are unaffected.
RMH says that the data breach has been addressed and contained with the help of law enforcement and third-party cyber security teams, and that it is safe to continue eating at their Applebee’s locations.
