32,000 pounds of chicken sausage recalled due to misbranding, undeclared allergens

WASHINGTON (WSYX/WTTE) -- More than 16 tons of chicken sausage has been recalled due to an undeclared milk allergen in the product.

Demakes Enterprises recalled 32,228 pounds of fully cooked chicken sausage product for its 10 oz. vacuum-sealed packages containing 5 pieces of “Thin ‘n Trim Fully Cooked Chicken Sausage Buffalo Style” and “Use By” dates from May 17, 2017 through Dec. 6, 2017.

The items were shipped to Ohio, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of this product. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.

Consumers who have purchased this product are urged not to consume them. This product should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
