Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott was apologetic, but relieved after an accident prior to leaving for the Fiesta Bowl on Sunday.

Elliott, who was involved in a two-vehicle crash, said he lost control as he hydroplaned. The police report of the accident said Elliott struck the side of another car after he hit a large of pool of water and briefly lost control while going northbound on State Route 315 just south of Lane Avenue. The female driver of the other car told police she felt sore, but declined medical treatment.

The 21-year-old said he wasn't aware his license had been suspended, but was grateful no one was seriously hurt in the incident. The junior added his father and lawyer were handling the traffic tickets that lead to his suspended license.

Eliott was joined by three fellow offensive players: quarterback J.T. Barrett, tackle Taylor Decker, and guard Pat Elflein.
