COLUMBUS (Steve Levine) -- A “Cinderella bandit” left his shoe behind while fleeing from an East Side house after being confronted by the home's owner during a break-in.

James Leigh, 62, said he discovered a pair of legs dangling in his kitchen window late Saturday night.

“I grabbed his foot as he was going out the window,” Leigh said.

A gray Nike tennis shoe was left at the scene by the intruder, who left the home empty-handed.

Surprisingly, the burglar returned to the scene of the crime hours later to ask if he could have his shoe back.

“What’s wrong with this guy to ask for his shoe back,” James said."He’s got to seriously be on drugs”.

The “Cinderella Bandit” shoe now in police custody as officers continue to investigate the case.
