Columbus Business Owner Fights Back Against AC Unit Thefts

Updated: Thursday, August 29 2013, 07:44 PM EDT
COLUMBUS (Steve Levine) -- A Columbus business is Fighting Back to stop a rash of air conditioner thefts hitting Central Ohio.

Iron Fortress Security on Parsons Ave. has created solid steel cages that can be placed over air conditioner units to prevent them from being stolen.

“We witness victims every day, the elderly, lower-income,” said owner Tom Roesch, who can make the totally welded protection any shape or size.

The extra layer of security is good news for Manny, who says thieves tried to rip out a unit from his northeast Columbus home just a few days ago.

“I can’t even go to work without somebody trying to take what I worked hard for,” said Manny.

Within the past five day, at least seven air conditioner units have been reported stolen to the Columbus Division of Police. Columbus Business Owner Fights Back Against AC Unit Thefts
