COLUMBUS (Steve Levine/Ken Hines) -- Vandals have slashed dozens of tires in a southeast Columbus neighborhood, adding to a growing list of crimes recently committed in the area.
Tyrone is one of at least six people who contacted police early Thursday morning after two of his work van's tires were sliced open.
“My truck is sitting crazy, it’s cockeyed, not even,” said Tyrone, whose tires were punctured while it was parked on Greers Ave.
The string of tire crimes occurred in the same neighborhood where three people, including a convenience store clerk, were recently murdered over the span of a week.
“They start shooting every night,” Tyrone said. “Every night you see the police helicopter flying around here.”
