COLUMBUS (Kellie Hanna) -- Here are the five best apps for your smartphone to save money.
Pros: Select your favorite brands and be alerted when they go on sale
Create your shopping list using accurate sale information matched to coupons
Search for items you need like "milk" and find where the best deal is this week.
Cons: Cannot print coupons from the app. (Technology is not there yet.)
2. Target Cartwheel
Pros: Find relevant sales on items in store at Target
You can stack the cartwheel coupon with a manufacturer coupon and a Target coupon.
Cons: There are so many coupons that if you're not specific you may not find the coupon that you need.
3. Valpak App
Pros: Find restaurant coupons easily
Find local deals
No coupons to print
Cons: Restaurants may not be familiar with the way you redeem the coupons when you show them your mobile coupon.
Pros: Receive mPerks rewards on full purchase amount
Cons: The store ad function does not list applicable coupons to lower your out of pocket cost.
Pros: Get coupons for items that are already on sale.
You can get an ibotta deposit on an item that you're purchasing with a coupon.
Cons: You have to scan your receipt and bar codes to get your deposit. (You do not have to do this at Buehler's.)
