DELAWARE -- The man accused in the murder of a pregnant Pataskala woman is free from jail as he awaits his trial.
Dr. Ali Salim posted bond Monday morning with the help of a Bonds Company. Salim’s bond was one million dollars.
Salim is charged with several counts in the death of Deanna Ballman and her unborn baby girl.
The body of Ballman was found last summer in the back seat of her car in rural Delaware County.
As Salim walked out of jail, ABC 6/ Fox 28 reporter Maria Durant was there. Salim said nothing as Durant asked him several questions about the murder charges.
He kept is head down.
“At one point it looked like he was going to answer when I asked him if he had anything to say to the Ballman family. He appeared to have tears in his eyes, but still said nothing.” Durant said.
Police say Salim’s passport has been taken from him. He must wear a GPS monitoring device and Andy Callif, the bail agent says his company is taking extra precaution to keep an eye on Dr. Salim and to keep the public safe.
Callif says Salim will wear an extra gps device. They are investigating whether to use a micro-chip gps device, but he is not certain.
