Chase/Crash in West Columbus

COLUMBUS -- (Release from Franklin Co. Sheriff's Office) Sheriff Zach
Scott states that at 11:28 a.m. the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office
received a phone call from the home owner at 5684 Alkire Road reporting a
vehicle was parked in the driveway, and people had just exited her
residence.
The suspect vehicle was seen heading down Alkire Road towards Galloway.
The suspect vehicle was located by responding deputy in the area of Galloway and Hall.
The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle and the suspect fled.
The
chase lasted several minutes and ranged from Sullivant Avenue to
Hilliard Rome and then on to Broad Street. Speeds were reported around
60-70 mph.
On Broad Street, the suspect vehicle lost control,
the suspect vehicle then collided with another vehicle in front of 4832
W. Broad St.
The male suspect was ejected from the vehicle.
Two people were trapped in the other vehicle, a mother and a 12 yr old male child.
The mother and child were transport to Doctor’s West Hospital with minor injuries.
The suspect driver was transported to Grant Hospital in stable condition.
The female suspect passenger was transported to Mt. Carmel West Hospital in stable condition.
Detectives are still on scene. Charges are pending.
