COLUMBUS -- After more than 18 years, a place parents have been sending their children, while they got to college, will close its doors.
The Child Development Center at Columbus State Community College will permanently close its doors effective June 15, according to a news release issued late Thursday night.
The center provides daycare and early education for nearly 100 children. School leaders cited money as one of the reasons for having to close it.
"Our limited financial and space resources compel us to focus our assets on helping students achieve their academic goals," said Terri Gehr, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
It's not yet known what the space where the center is will be used for.
