Church Locked-down For West Side Shooting

COLUMBUS -- The Columbus Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was locked-down Tuesday evening. Columbus Police say two people were shot on the church parking lot.
"It's a very surprising sight because the temple is one of our most sacred buildings," Eric Young said. "You just don't expect to see something like this in this area."
Police say the suspect and victims, more on them here, were not members of the church but had an altercation in the parking lot leading up to the crime.
"I'm sad that this would occur on the property." Young says, "I'm sad it would happen anywhere."
Several of those locked-down inside the church meeting hall were released shortly before 10 o'clock Tuesday evening.
