COLUMBUS -- (Kelsey Mallahan) The Columbus "Moms Demand Action" group took to the streets today.
They're hoping to apply more pressure on lawmakers to pass tougher gun legislation.
They say U.S. Sen. Rob Portman should think again about his vote against a bill that would have expanded background checks for gun sales.
Julie Eichorn joined the group outside Portman’s office on her lunch hour.
"I've said many times if we can't get things accomplished in this senate session then we're going to have to vote some senators into time out," she said.
A spokeswoman told ABC 6/FOX 28 that Portman, “heard from and spoken with well-intentioned people across Ohio who fall on both sides of the issue.”
Sen. Portman supports legislation that addresses mental illness, school safety and gun trafficking.
