CANAL WINCHESTER (Kellie Hanna) -- A Fairfield County deputy was injured overnight when he tried to pull over a car in a traffic stop at Gender Road and Winchester Pike just after 3 a.m. for speeding.
The deputy was dragged about 5-10 feet when he reached in to get the driver's license of the driver he tried to pull over.
He wasn't, however, seriously injured.
Another deputy followed the car and driver after he took off and ditched the car in a nearby apartment complex.
The vehicle was not reported missing nor did police find any drugs or alcohol inside.
Police searched for the suspect for over an hour in the area but they didn't find him. He's described as a black male, 19-20 years old, wearing black shorts and a multicolored shirt.
Anyone with information about where this suspect may be is asked to call the Fairfield County Sheriff's Office.
