FIGHTING BACK FLASHBACK: 6 Year Murder Case

DELAWARE – Nearly six years after llama farmer Eve Ashbaugh was found stabbed to death in her Delaware County home, sheriff's detectives still search for suspects.
“It’s one of those cases, we want to re-visit,” said Sheriff Russell Martin, “to see if there’s a new development out there.”
A farmhand found Eve’s body in her bedroom, when he arrived for work; she had been stabbed multiple times.
Authorities found a bloody mess inside Ashbaugh’s home on May 5th, 2007, two pieces of key evidence included a wooden ladder under Eve’s bedroom window, and the screen that had been slit open.
Sheriff's Detective Rusty Yates says it could have been personal, or it could’ve been a robbery.
To jump-start the cold case, detectives are considering resubmitting evidence for DNA testing.
“We believe somebody knows what happened, and they’ll do the right thing and come forward, not to close the case, but to give justice to Eve’s family,” says Yates.
Anyone with information is asked to call Delaware County Sheriff's office at 740-833-2810.
