NORTH COLUMBUS – A skinny burglar squeezes through two 2X4’s to break into a North Columbus corner store, stealing cash, lottery tickets, tobacco, and a gun.
The thief busted an 18 inch hole in a back storage room and climbed into Natalia’s Carry-out, 1293 Summit St, on Sunday afternoon.
“I am so surprised, I didn’t know he could get in that,” said owner Tedros Werke, who says the burglar returned to the store a half hour later, to steal a flat screen TV.
The thief caught in action, by security cameras, shows him running behind the counter to steal cigars and cigarettes, worth more than $3,000.
The carry-out which is normally open on Sunday afternoons, was closed so Tedros could attend his daughter’s birthday party.
Columbus Police are now investigating the burglary. Anyone with information is asked to call officers at 614-645-4545.
