Final Preps Underway for OSU Commencement

Updated: Thursday, May 2 2013, 05:22 AM EDT
COLUMBUS (Tara Morgan) -- OSU is putting the final touches on security for Sunday's commencement featuring President Barack Obama.

OSU is working with the President's security detail.

There is a list of items guests and graduates won't be able to take inside the stadium including weapons, liquids, signs and noisemakers.

Security at the gates will be a lot like what you see at airports with metal detectors.

OSU officials say it's good to be extra cautious especially after the Boston bombings and recent online threats against the university.

Students say they're a little worried about wait times but will cherish the memories.

"I don't want to have to show up really early and my family to have to show really early just to wait in the stadium for the ceremony to begin but at the same time having the opportunity to say the President of the United States is my commencement speakers, I think it's worth it," said OSU senior, Alyssa Darah.

OSU is asking guests to arrive at the stadium by 7:30 A.M. Sunday to allow for everyone to make it through the security screening.Final Preps Underway for OSU Commencement
