COLUMBUS -- Police are investigating after a piece of metal hit a man in the chest after he hit it with his car.
It happened just before 10 a.m. when police responded to I-270 northbound in the Gahanna area near milemarker 39.
A 57-year-old man had been hit by a metal bolt in the chest after he hit a box of them on the freeway.
Right now police say a box of them fell out of the back of the truck, hit the ground and one went through the windshield of the car.
The bolt is about two feet long and about as thick as a thumb.
They are possibly a military style bolt.
The man was transported to Grant Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, but he was complaining of shortness of breath.
