School Board Members Resign After Criminal Investigation

WHITEHALL -- A pair of Whitehall City School Board members suddenly resigned from their positions; their resignation letters dated February 28, 2013.
The remaining three school board members accepted those resignations on Monday.
"I didn't see this coming," Board President Walter Armes said.
Brandon Howard, 21, of Whitehall and his mother, Ronda Howard also of Whitehall both took their leave.
Last summer, Brandon Howard was at the center of a police investigation when he was found with a concealed weapon at Whitehall's National Night Out.
According to police records, Howard claimed he had a CCW license and even searched himself and his vehicle with police but it was all a lie.
Once police found out, officers report Howard wanted the situation, "just swept under the rug."
Howard plead guilty to misdemeanor charges in early February.
In his letter of resignation, he cited, "it is in my best interest for me to resign for the well being of my entire family."
After multiple attempts to reach the Howards, neither of them went into details as to why they suddenly resigned.
The remaining board members were also left clueless; now scouting for two replacements.
Those positions need to be filled by the end of the month or a probation judge can step in and appoint school board members.
