State of the State Costs

LIMA (AP) -- Community leaders in northwest Ohio say they don't mind that the cost of bringing Gov. John Kasich's State of the State address to Lima was more than they first expected.
The expenses covered by private money and donations will be about $65,000. That's double than what they anticipated.
The money went toward putting on a full day of events last week including receptions, tours, committee hearings and meetings with state officials.
Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce President Jed Metzger says it was money well spent.
He says community leaders got to show off the city and make connections that will pay off for a long time.
Some of the sponsorship money went toward new signs, room rentals, food and charter buses.
