COLUMBUS -- An SUV crashed through a northeast Columbus business early Tuesday evening, injuring three people inside.
Witnesses told investigators the SUV was traveling westbound on Morse Rd. near the intersection of Westerville Rd, when it veered off the road and crashed into the side of Hartman's Trophies and Cards. A store employee told us Gary Hartman and a customer were in the main showroom when it happened.
That employee, who didn't want to be identified said, "It was just all at once, a big boom! And then smoke but I think that was from the stuff falling from the ceiling and that."
The impact pinned Hartman and the customer under a mess of glass cases and the SUV itself.
"He was hurting, he was screaming," the employee said. "And then the customer was worried about Gary. And Gary's worried about the customer."
Hartman and the the customer suffered broken bones and were taken to the hospital where they are expected to be OK. The driver of the SUV escaped unhurt and was cited with "failure to control" which is a traffic ticket.
One other person inside suffered minor injuries.
