Vehicle Crashes into a Columbus Deli

Updated: Thursday, April 4 2013, 08:45 AM EDT
COLUMBUS -- Witnesses say it sounded like a bomb had gone off when the driver of a vehicle hit the gas instead of the brake and crashed into a south side deli.

It happened at around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at The Ohio Deli on S. High St. near Williams Rd.

Police say a couple that was eating dinner were struck by the debris when the driver crashed into the side of the restaurant.  One of them had to be transported to an area hospital because of cuts from flying glass.

The restaurant was forced to shut down until inspectors can check to make sure the building is safe and health inspectors check the food.
