Water Main Break Being Repaired In German Village

Updated: Tuesday, April 9 2013, 12:46 PM EDT
GERMAN VILLAGE - A large water main break is causing problems in one community just south of Downtown Columbus.

City officials told ABC 6/FOX 28 News that the line broke around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Brust and Beck Streets.

The city said the broken line is eight inches and buried under the brick street.

The leak was contained to the street by 5:45 a.m., and water was not expected to get into any surrounding homes.

The city says it will bring in a crew at 7:30 a.m. to dig up the street and repair the line.

Water will be cut off to about 20 homes in the area during the repair work.

Beck Street remains closed at Grant Ave. while crews finish the repairs.
