Comment: Bullying is bullying no matter what the target issue is. As working adults there are laws against "sexual harassment" and "discrimination" in the work place and school should be no different. Bullying for any reason should not be tolerated and should be punishable to a realistic level as to deter this type of behavior.
Comment: Of course these categories should be included. LGBTQ teens (or those perceived to be LGBTQ)are much more frequently harassed, bullied and even killed for who they are. I speak from personal experience.
Comment: Every child should be safe at school regardless of there sexual orientation or gender identity. The student who was the bully should be expelled!! Parents should be teaching tolerance and understanding. Where are the parents of this student? They should be ashamed!!!!

Comment: The policy should protect all of the children for gender identity, sexual orientation race and any bullying. I am so sick of these kids bullying others and it seems that they always get away with it. I don't even want to send my son to school because I am afraid something/anything could happen to him. Comment: These groups mostly just want people to embrace there type of behavior. They try to make it accepted behavior like a few few other things in recent society that I won't get into here, but you get the drift.
Comment: P.C. and liberal mind-set are detrimental to civil society. Some things must be held sacred and defended if we are to survive as a free people. Morality is not and never has been available to governmental control or legislation. The American ideals of independent sprit and freedom are the result of social discourse and agreement within our culture, not big brother and the nanny state.
A wise man once noted that: When mores are sufficient, laws are unnecessary and when mores are not sufficient, laws are unenforceable.
Violent behavior should never be tolerated and must have consequences to those who would bully or take advantage of others. But the broad brush of governmental control is not the answer to an uncivil society.

Comment: Specifics are not needed as to the cause of bullying. ANY bullying for any reason should be treated equally. No special considerations are needed. I was bullied because I was shy, did that need to be delineated? No, an anti-bullying policy should cover any reason and be non-specific as to the bullies reason. The reason bullies bully is that no one stops them. Schools are not stopping the first incidents of bullying and so it gets worse and spreads. Policys only work when followed and enforced.
