Blue Jackets "crashed the practice" of CCYHA's special hockey program

COLUMBUS -- Quite a thrill for 40 local hockey players who got to rub shoulders and hockey sticks with the Blue Jackets Sam Gagner and Boone Jenner.

The NHL pair were on the ice with Special Hockey for their practice Monday night – team of individuals with developmental disabilities.

As part of the Lady Jackets Holiday Auction held last month, Gagner & Jenner offered a “crash your practice” experience. The person who runs Special Hockey got the package so they get these CBJ special guests to join their players for a practice.

"This is about an opportunity for development cognitively and certainly the social interaction is important as well," Program Director Chris Wenzke told ABC-6.

Special Hockey is also a grant partner of the CBJ Foundation.
