COLUMBUS -- Ohio State's 2017 recruiting class is flirting with number one on the eve of Wednesday's National Signing Day.

The first Wednesday in February each year is the first day when college football hopefuls can sign with their respective schools.

Ohio State is putting together perhaps its best class ever or at least its best since 2006.

Prized defensive back Jeffrey Okudah is one of 4 recruits from the state of Texas. Okudah verbally committed during the U.S. Army All-American game in San Antonio.

"[OSU] had the whole nine yards," Okudah said during the game's broadcast.

Multi-talented athlete Brendon White is a Buckeye legacy following his father William, a defensive. back for the Bucks in the late 80's, to Ohio State. The eldest White also enjoyed a 10-year NFL career.

Other signees already enrolled include LB Baron Browning, RB J.K. Dobbins, QB Tate Martell, OL Josh Myers, S Isaiah Pryor, CB Shaun Wade and CB Marcus Williamson.
