Suspect Still at Large After Muskingum/Perry Co. Chase

MUSKINGUM COUNTY (Ken Hines) -- A suspect remains at large after leading deputies on a multi-county chase early Tuesday morning.

The chase began at approximately 12:39 a.m. when Muskingum County deputies attempted to stop an unidentified male driver for a lack of tail lights at Foxfire Dr. and Pinkerton Road.

The driver refused to stop, instead leading pursuing deputies on a chase that ended in Perry County when he crashed his car at SR-204 and SR-13, according to investigators.

Deputies attribute the suspect's crash to spike strips that were placed on the road by state troopers.

The driver fled the crash scene on foot, and was able to elude investigators despite their use of an airplane.

The search was eventually called off without the apprehension of the suspect.
