Columbus School Board Names Interim Superintendent
COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- The Columbus City School Board has named an interim superintendent as district officials begin to move on after a much-publicized attendance scandal.
Dr. James Daniel Good will serve as the district's superintendent until June 30, 2014.
Good, a former superintendent of Westerville City Schools, will begin work at his new position on July 1.
Board members hope Good's appointment will re-establish trust among city residents after state investigators determined that district workers participated in widespread attendance manipulation.
Good's predecessor, Dr. Gene Harris, announced her resignation amid the attendance investigation in September, 2012.
Harris has not cited the investigation as a reason for her departure.
