Alleged Driver in Pike Co. Fatal Crash Caught by Troopers

CHILLICOTHE (Ken Hines) -- A man accused of causing a June crash that killed three people is behind bars after eluding law enforcement for more than a week.

State troopers arrested Waverly resident Paul Riggs without incident on Germany Road in Pike County on Wednesday morning in connection with the June 24 crash.

Riggs allegedly fled the River Road crash site after his car slammed into the front end of the vehicle driven by Tina Ogier, who was pregnant at the time of the crash.

Ogier, 35, was killed, along with her unborn baby, and her 19-year-old niece, Mary Jane Cooper. Ogier's 14-year-old son survived the crash.

Riggs, 30, is charged with 3 counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and one count of aggravated vehicular assault. He is being held at the Scioto County Jail.
