Investigators Trying to Identify Mifflin Twp. Fatal Shooting Victim

COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- Police are attempting to identify a man who was found shot to death outside a Franklin Twp. cemetery early Monday morning.

The victim was discovered at Green Lawn Cemetery's entrance at approximately 2:30 a.m. by workers from a nearby psychiatric hospital, according to Franklin Co. Sheriff Zach Scott.

Detectives have confirmed that the victim was not a patient at the hospital.

The unidentified victim suffered at least one gunshot wound to the upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe the victim's body was moved to the cemetery after he was shot.

The victim is described as an African-American male, 5'3" to 5'6" tall, 170 to 180 lbs., with braided, shoulder length hair. At the time of his death, he was wearing a black shirt, black pants, and white, high top sneakers.
