Suspect Sought After Speedway Burglary

UPPER ARLINGTON (Kellie Hanna) -- A burglary suspect is on the run after trying to break into the Speedway gas station in Upper Arlington.

When they got to the scene about 2:30 a.m. Thursday, the burglar had pried open the back door and was seen running from the back of the building at 3616 Riverside Drive.

Police have determined the burglar only cut the phone line and not the alarm system line.

Police detectives say the burglar probably got "spooked" when the alarm sounded.

There were wire cutters and a pry bar found in the woods nearby.  They are continuing to search for the suspect.

Police used K9 officers to search nearby neighborhoods for the suspect, but didn't find anyone.

They are reviewing surveillance video to see if there is a good picture of the suspect.

Anyone with information about where the suspect may be is asked to call Upper Arlington police.

It doesn't appear that anything was taken from the store.
