Tim Hortons Looking for New Doughnut Ideas

TORONTO (AP) - Canadian-born T-V star Jason Priestley is helping Tim Hortons pick the winner of a contest to design a new doughnut.

Priestley had a cameo in the sitcom "How I Met Your Mother" last February that portrayed Canadians as being obsessed with Tim Hortons.

After that, Tim's made a doughnut called "The Priestly" by stuffing a chocolate 'Timbit' inside a strawberry-vanilla doughnut.

The company is now offering a 10-thousand dollar grand prize for the winning pastry.

A Tim's spokeswoman says there have already been more than 10-thousand entries.

They include the chocolate "Hockey Puck" and the "Red Velvet Pecan" doughnut.

Though it's not certain whether the winning doughnut will be sold at Tim Hortons locations, company chefs could use the idea for inspiration.

Contest details and a doughnut design program are available on the company's website and Facebook page.
