Family Says Man Hit By Dump Truck, Left in Street

COLUMBUS (Jen French)—A  man is recovering after police say he was hit by a dump truck, then left in the street. The incident was captured by surveillance cameras. The family wants to know who was behind the wheel.

As of Sunday afternoon, 25-year-old Frank Long is in serious condition at Grant Medical Center. According to his family, a police officer found him Friday morning around 5:00 in an alley off of E Lynn and High Street.

Family members say he was on his way to work. Long has had multiple surgeries since the accident. They’re not sure if he’ll fully recover or be able to walk again.

"He got a big scar right here, and in the back of his head, he has 12 or 13 staples in the back of his head. His whole leg is ruptured,” Jennie Long said, Frank’s mother.

Columbus police are reviewing video and investigating the incident. The truck driver has yet to be identified. If you have any information about this incident, you’re asked to contact the Columbus Police.
