Marion Teen Struck by Car During Driver's Exam

MARION (Ken Hines) -- A teenage bicyclist is being treated for undisclosed injuries after being struck by a car during a driver's license exam on Tuesday afternoon.

The 15-year-old girl was struck at the intersection of Oak and Silver Streets in Marion at approximately 12:45 p.m., according to Ohio State Highway Patrol investigators.

A BMV examiner inside the vehicle at the time of the accident said the girl was riding her bike on the sidewalk, then traveled into the path of the car.

Investigators said they do not believe the student driver bears responsibility for the accident.

The teen's condition has not been released, though she is believed to have suffered serious injuries.
