Amber Alert Canceled: Cleveland Boy Found Safe

CLEVELAND (Derek Drake) -- An Amber Alert ended safely for an 8-year-old boy who was taken by his non-custodial father.

The alert was issued across the state just after 6:00 am on July 1, 2013 for Kevin J. Criss, 8. He was reportedly taken by his father, also named Kevin Criss, 34, from the 3700 West Boulevard in Cleveland.

Police said the man is addicted to methamphetamines and is paranoid with violent tendencies. He also made statements that he was headed to California.

Police arrested Criss and took custody of the young boy, who was reportedly unharmed, in Huron, Ohio, over 50 miles west of Cleveland.
