New Jobs Coming to Dublin

DUBLIN (Adam Aaro) -- The Dublin City Council is looking to approve two economic development agreements that would bring 50 new jobs to the city over the next several years.

Navidea Biopharmaceuticals is looking to expand its presence in the area and in the process would add 20 new jobs and build additional corporate office space. In a media release from the city, Brent Larson, Executive Vice President of CFO of the company said, "Navidea is pleased to be partnering with the City in continuing our growth here in Dublin and supporting job creation in the region. We are proud to have Dublin as our base of operations since 1994 and look forward to many more years benefiting from the region's outstanding assets."

Persistent Systems, a global software product development company, plans to open a Midwest regional office in Dublin that would create 30 new IT jobs.

The Dublin City Council will vote on both agreements at its August 12 meeting.
