Suspect in Court in Jackson Co. Missing Girl Case

JACKSON (Dominique Mondon) -- Authorities have charged a man with abduction in connection with the Friday disappearance of six-year-old girl Macey Stewart.

Zach Dunn, 30, was apprehended by police at a residence on State Route 776 at 8 p.m. Friday after an intensive investigation.  He is expected in court Tuesday.

Stewart was found alive about seven miles from her home at a house on Oakland Road in Liberty Township just before 4 p.m. Friday. She had been missing for nearly 14 hours.

Authorities are still investigating the extent of the injuries Stewart appears to have obtained during the ordeal.

The Jackson County Police Department says the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible. Dunn is being held on a $50,000 bond.
